Penny just sent me an email about this site and I wanted to share it with you. The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. All you have to do is click here and then click on the purple "Click here to give - it's free" button. The web site's sponsors then donate money for food based on your click. No registration required, no spam emails will be sent to you. Just click and you will be giving .6 bowls of food to rescued animals in the US. Yesterday 38,567 pounds of food were donated from people clicking on the web site. That's 77,134 bowls of food that were served. Unfortunately there are 6-8 million animals that enter shelters every year. Half of those get adopted, but the other half are euthanized. Euthanization is a horrible but very real fact and is often chosen due to lack of funds for necessities like food.
Rescue animals are very near and dear to my heart. I think of our Miss Lucy and the fact that she was in a shelter for 3 months. I don't want to even think about what would have happened to her if there hadn't been enough food to feed her. The sad thing is that there are millions of "Lucys" in shelters right now. Please, just take a moment to give a stray pet a few more days to find a home.
The site also allows you to do the same "Click for a Cause" for other organizations. World Hunger, Breast Cancer, Children's Healthcare, Literacy, and the Rainforest. I encourage you all to take a moment and CLICK FOR A CAUSE.
Love,
